New Office

Earlier this week dropped the boys off at Greg's sister Laura & Bretts home and Greg and I went to the Temple. Then after we grabbed the boys and while we were downtown we stopped by Greg's new office. The company just moved a few blocks down. And he has a great full window with some great views. The boys loved looking out over the city below. Like the Galivan Center the tops of all the buildings, and the mountains.
Greg loves his view. I bet it helps not make the day seem so long sometimes. And Rafe had fun in the window sill.

Stike a pose. I took way too many pictures. It was fun though.

Summer Cuts

So last week we had the missionaries over for dinner. Yummy gourmet burgers and fries. The boys loved having "real life" missionaries over. Jax had neighbors in mind for them to go and visit. But the highlight was the awesome mad Yoyo skills they had. The one Elder is like a professional, he was teaching his companion and were showing us all their fun tricks. It made Greg and I wonder what they spend their time doing? (ha ha) So I got out my trusty colored pencils and sketched a picture of them with the boys and the Yoyo's. Or maybe it was a picture edited.

Summer cuts have arrived. Buzzes for the boys. Except Rafe, we went short, but not a buzz for the baby. He'd get burned of course. And what would the Lorenzon's be if we didn't make our monthly trip to Instacare. Creed was playing/jumping on the couch, you know, like you're supposed to. And he fell and slammed his neck/head in to the hard tile window sill. And sure enough, bashed his chin open. Blood was every where. This is the second time he's cut his chin open. But not exactly the same spot. This time he only needed six stitches. We thought he might have broken his jaw. That was scary. Then the Dr. thought he'd have to use a shot and do a couple layers of stitches. But a little numbing cream and only a solid 6 stitches this time. Phew. Not as bad as we thought. But it hurts him and he has quite the bruise. Sorry if the picture is gross to look at. Right after it happened and Creed was screaming, he told me... "I'm not going to make it!". I don't know what he thought he was saying. But I tried not to laugh.

And after searching for sandals wide and big enough for Bodie's cute chubby big feet. We found some. I LOVE the way his feet look in these. I'm weird, but I think it's so dang cute. And then there's the way he says the word flip flops. Cute too. Wish you could hear him.
So far summer is a bummer. Our car is getting fixed so I'm home with no way of leaving. It's been kinda cold, the boys are fighting and we're all going stir crazy! And it's only Wednesday! Help!!

Schools out, now what?!

Completed 1st grade - check
Made new friends - check
Started eating more foods at school lunch other than pizza - check
Reading (always getting better) - check
Learning and speaking French - check
Loved all the many field trips - check
Became a master of Tether ball - check
Sad that school is out - check
Looking forward to summertime - check

The first grade classes did an end of year program. Jax's was the "French" one. So they sang a song in french and danced around. Short and sweet. But the other classes, not so short. It was a long hour. Jax said he almost fell asleep watching the others classes. (me too)
Every year the school does a "Beach Day". Water games for hours outside. We drove by to check it out. And got there right as the Fire truck came to soak the kids. So I have a few pics. It was fun to watch. But Jaxon missed it. His class was on the lower playground doing the dunk tank. No wonder I couldn't find him.
I suppose I should get Creed registered for kindergarten. I've been dragging my feet. Trying to avoid me sending Creed to the school. All the other schools near by are full and wait listed. But not our school. Nope. But don't get me started on that. I'm only mentioning it because I want to remember that I had a quest for a better neighborhood school. I guess it's still not over.
Ok, glad that summer is here. I am so looking forward to the fun that's to be had. But also wondering what I'm going to do with 4 kids home all day all summer long!

*Memorial Day Weekend*

Well we had grand plans. We were going to go boating, then the weather was wet and cold, we were going to go to the air show at Hill AFB, but the weather was wet and cold. We were going to go to a pool party/BBQ but it was canceled due to the cold and wet weather. So we lounged around and didn't do much at all. We did have my family over Monday morning for a breakfast, then met Greg's family at a park for dinner later. And I have 1 picture of the whole weekend, thanks to Laura. Friday I took the boys to go see some digger trucks with cousins. And then Creed got to go to daddy's work for a few hours in the afternoon. Friday night at Applebee's, then the older boys had a family room sleep over and watched the Muppet's. Jax gave a talk in Primary and had his stories memorized so he didn't have to read much. He's getting so big. And today, Tuesday, we will go visit a cemetery. The boys like to see all the awesome sea of flowers. Well that sums up our fun filled weekend.

Completed Preschool

Creed had his short and sweet preschool program this last week. I've loved hearing him sing me the songs all year. So cute. He is so proud to be "graduated" from preschool.  He has basically been going since he was 2. But really the first years was a group play and learn class for his speech.
I love all of his facial expressions. He can be the silliest kid. He has a little buddy Seth that he plays with. And gets in trouble for talking too much during class. They are funny together. And then a picture with his teachers Mrs Heather and Mrs. Riley. I've LOVED his teacher. So has he. Too bad they can't teach him for kindergarten.
Creed took these pics of Rafe. Good job at capturing his smile and laugh. He has been doing this funny loud growl laugh.

Pacifier Run Anyone

Baby Rafe's first time riding in the power wheels. He loved it. And Creed loved being his chauffeur. Creed also asked why I sometimes call Rafe "baby Rafe". I guess he is a toddler now, but I've always referred to him as a baby. And he is my baby. I actually like that he still crawls, he still seems like a "real" baby that way. But I might be a little concerned that he isn't saying any words. He babbles every once-in-a-while. And he can sure scream/grumble and sounds like an animal. He like squawks at us or something.
And a big milestone for Rafe is a week ago we took away his pacifier. He no longer has a Binky! Hooray!
13 months old. It wasn't too bad. He kinda cried a little when we'd lay him down to sleep for a few days. Then he was fine. The only thing is when he wakes up in the early morning, he used to find his binki in the crib and I guess fall back asleep. But now he wakes and scream/cries. So I am getting up 45 min. earlier than I'd like to. But I'm working on him. I'm putting him to bed a little later in hopes he'll start sleeping a little later.

Jax was 11 months when we took his away, but he didn't need it and never looked back. Piece of cake. Creed was 13 months and liked it for falling asleep but after a few times stopped crying for it. Bodie never even took a binki so that was great. And I didn't want Rafe to get any older and more attached to it. And he liked it, but I can't say it was a comfort to him anymore. He kinda likes his little blanket for that. Or mom.
For all my kids I was pretty good and not completely loosing them. But the last few months we lost them, got some new ones, lost those. Found 1 or 2 again. We had a rough patch of tracking our binkies. Ugh, I'm done. Yeah, I'm done with them!
Bye bye Binky! (We called it a plug in my
 family when I was little.)

And Jax's school had a fun run. So several times he'd start preparing for it by running 20 laps around our backyard. He's waving hi to me and hot so he took his shirt off. The middle pic is the whole 1st grade starting out the race. And I love the last pic. He's cringing in pain from a side ache and was dying at the end of the mile. But he did it. He took 3rd place out of the boys. So proud of him. (Although he technically kept running and didn't turn off the course to the finish line)

Here he is resting after with his best friend Graydon. He told me they paced themselves. They ran together and practically tied. I'm pretty sure Graydon says he won 3rd place too. Oh well. I wish their schools would do a big "real- Field Day" like when I was in school.

Cupthedrals

Towers, castles, forts, & pyramids. The boys have been using the left over cups from Greg's party. They love to see how high they can build something and the favorite for all of them is to then destroy it. We've had a few tears over it and some teamwork. Creed has even taken his stack of cups to bed with him, don't ask.
Boys = building.

Top of the Freak'n Hill

Greg was 39 going on 40. And it came, we partied, and it's over. I can't believe I'm married to such an old man (ha ha). What a milestone birthday. Your whole life you talk about turning 40.  As your age approaches you start a count down. But, it's always been years out there. Not for Greg anymore. Talk about MID-life! He is over-the-hill as they say. It seems like my dad just turned 40 (I remember having a big cake with a party, black balloons, black roses on the cake. It was a big birthday, and as he was blowing out the candles I remember the leaf in the table fell and the cake kinda fell but he caught it). Anyways, and now my own hubby is a 40 year old. Just so you know, I am not near 40.  But when I am I'm sure I won't like it. :)

After the unbelief that his 40th B-day arrived, 40 years he's been on this earth (he's had a good ride so far) we decided to celebrate with a bash in our garage/front yard. We invited lots of people, family, friends, and neighbors. It was a fun time. I used lots of black, and was able to put 40 candles on the cake.  He almost blew them all out with one breath.  Almost.
I could sure tease him, but I don't want to. He doesn't look 40 and he certainly doesn't act it (ha ha).
So for the collages, I'm getting ready to put the candles in the cake, some of the party crowd, the birthday boy showing his big guns, and the boys licking the icing off the many candles.
All night Bodie had a black stained mouth.  Here he is applying some lip stick frosting, then it turned into a goatee.
After the party was over Greg cleaned it all up. I helped a little. Here's some of the decor (I made the pom poms Rafe is playing with) It was a fun Birthday for Greg. The boys loved it too. Jax wanted to fully understand why it was all black and a big deal. We explained many times. He say's his dad is starting a new life now that he's 40.  So funny.

Here's to 40 more happy years!

Little Greg

A certain someone is going to be having a big birthday soon. I just thought I'd share some golden oldies of him. Wasn't he a cute little 1 year old.

And Greg might be like 10 years old here. His mom wasn't sure. When we asked our boys who was in these pictures they all thought Bodie, and even said Jax. I bet they will grow up looking just like their daddy.
And Creed and Jax both said for this picture that it must be Rick and Greg (brothers). But nope, we said it is just an old silly way they used to do pictures. It is all one person. I'd be confused too.

Sleep Over

4 Little Monkey's sleeping on the floor. Well, really only 2 slept on the floor. The older boys love having sleep overs. They get their sleeping bags, movie, treat, get to stay up late and daddy sleeps out in the family room with them. It's great fun for them. We made a temporary spot for Bodie as he has to copy them and Rafe loved crawling all over them. He was wondering what was going on. And until the younger boys start to "sleep in" everyone is awake with the birds for this sleep over.
Not much going on. The older boys are in swim lessons, I've been planting flowers. And I've been doing research and getting ready to present my idea/plans to the local elementary schools Community Council meeting. I'm nervous for that. But something has to be done. Um what else...
Bodie's had some injuries lately. First he bruised and cut his ear up good when he fell off the hammock and hit his head. Then a few days later, Creed ran his bike into Bodie's and flipped it and he scrapped his nose up. And then Greg decided to play surgeon and cut a red mole/skin tag growth thing that appeared on Bodie's neck recently and cut it off. Only to have it bleed for hours and hours and resulted in us taking him to instacare. So he had that all bandaged up. Hopefully that's his 3.
Greg and I are often reminding each other not to say certain words around the boys (stupid, dumb, crap, etc.). And the other day I was out driving and got upset at some "stupid chick" driver. And I hear Bodie in the back repeating me. Oops. Then the next day I was driving around, lost and joking yelled at where I was and I hear Bodie ask me "mommy is it stupid?" ha ha. He is so funny. I love hearing him try and repeat the Spanish words he learns from watching Dora. He is a character. He's at that age. Oh, I was at the store today and was busy looking at some items on a shelf and I look over and he has pulled down about 8 little kid plastic patio chairs and lined them up in the main isle blocking anyone else to get through. He was so proud of himself. And yes, people were actually waiting to get by.
Creed loves to sing me the songs he learns in preschool. He also tells me how he often has to move spots on the classroom rug because he is talking to his little friend too much. Today at school they learned all about bugs. And he was telling about 10 different ones. He remembered every little detail too.  Then he got mad at me for something and said he wasn't going to tell me about any more bugs! But he caved and a while later he finished his saga on bugs.
Ok, I am just mentioning anything random. So I'll end it now.
