7 Years of Good Luck

It looks like this picture is 117 years old. Pretty neat. It's only 7 years old. And it's Greg and I on our wedding day. Happy Anniversary to us!
The next two photos are the original and the fun edited one so you can compare.
Where's the bride? It's kinda hard to see me in this one. My family were all the "props" walking past us.
Us smooching on the streets of Salt Lake.
I figure if I keep mentioning in my "anniversary" postings some memories of our wedding, that after a while I'll have documented the day pretty well. So let's see...
We had Greg rent his tux shoes. He didn't have any. I wore the flattest shoes I could get. We don't remember what we served at our reception. I think we had a fruit tart? And maybe something with chicken and croissants? Anyone, anyone?? Mom, do you remember?
I gave Greg very good rules and instructions when it came to cutting the cake. It's kind of silly how people cut their cake and serve each other bites in front of everyone, but that's a wedding thing to do I guess. And Greg was nice and gentle when holding my bite of cake. I did NOT want a smashed or smeared cake or frosting all over. I would have been mad. But it was all great and clean. Chocolate cake with raspberry filling I believe.
Another little story about our car. I made a deal with my brother Drew, that when he got married (just over a month before me) I would "hide" his car or make sure nobody decorated it so they wouldn't have to clean it off. And that he would do the same for me. He came through. He drove my car down the hill and parked it somewhere. In fact when we left the reception, Drew drove us to our car and he didn't quite remember where he parked it. But we found it, with no Oreo's or writing, or anything on it. It had just started to snow, so I was very grateful for that.
Then coming home from our honeymoon was no fun. It was late, we left the airport for home. I had to go to the bathroom, and when we walked in our apartment it was a disaster of toilet paper all over. But that wasn't the part I was bugged about. I rushed to the potty, and there were clear plastic cups full of water all over the entire floor, in both bathrooms! So I couldn't get to the toilet. And our tub had gold fish swimming in it. Ugh! My sister had to get us. I think she had some help. And for weeks I would find fake bugs stashed in different places. I can laugh now.
Fun times! I can't believe it's been 7 years. I am so glad I have Greg. I can't imagine life without him. Our life is Fantastic!

Growing Up

We gave Bodie his first bites of Rice Cereal. Ya think he liked it? It took over a week to get him to start to keep it in his mouth. He also likes to spit now, and so one day while I was trying the cereal again, he thought he'd spit. Creed laughed and laughed. The mess wasn't too bad. Greg separated the bouquet into 3 parts, so Jax, Creed, and Greg all gave me some flowers for my birthday. The boys had the biggest grins ever. Jax continued to draw me several flowers throughout the day. He is getting so good at staying in the lines. And Creed would tell me, "Appy Urrday". Greg and I went out to dinner and celebrated. It was so nice. We went to Bambara, it's in the Hotel Monaco. When we walked in the host saw us and said... "you must be Laurie, Happy Birthday". Then he gave us our printed menu's and on the top it said "Happy Birthday Laurie". We had great food. I have been wanting to try Bambara for years. I know they've changed chef's a few times, but it was all really nice. Then when we were going to leave, to go home and have b-day cake, instead of their "interesting" desserts they offered, the waiter said he couldn't let me leave yet, and brought out some ice cream with a candle. They really went above and beyond for my b-day. I felt special. It was so great to go out on a date.

We finally got rid of Bodie's "comb over". Greg shaved Bodie's head the other day. Bodie had a worried look on his face during it.
Bodie is starting to get "re-growth" back in his hair. He has patchy bald spots all around his head.

Here is the new look. He looks so different to me. He looks a little older. He is a total chunk. He weighs like almost 20 lbs. or something. In a few weeks at his 6 month check up I'll find out his new stats. I'm dying carrying him around in the infant car seat. And just today he graduated to size 3 diapers.
When I got out the camera, Creed came running over and started kissing Bodie. I have about 15 shots of him kissing Bodie. By the end... He wasn't very happy anymore.

Jax got the last one in before I saved him from his brothers.

Talk

Jax decided to tell me what they are getting me for my b-day...
Some ski’s or a sled or something.
And something beautiful
(said in a boyish way that doesn’t like beautiful stuff?)
Then he said , do I wanna know what else?
Some flowers, Real flowers. From him. (because that's what boys do)
Then he said they will get me a spider trap for girls.
With a long handle and get me a vacuum so I can vacuum them up so that more will come to the trap and vacuum them up too.

Then he made me write it down on paper to make a list to put on the fridge. And insisted I use a pink crayon, for girls of course.
The kid cracks me up. Yesterday he told us he's the smartest kid in "Sock" Lake City, while holding his finger to his brain showing us his smarts.
And today Creed French Kissed Bodie. Creed was smothering Bobo (as he now calls him) and I told him to not put his hair in Bodie's eyes/face. So he backed up and really puckered his lips out far so he could reach in and kiss him without his face touching him. And wham, planted one on Bodie, but Bodie's mouth was open and in went Creed's lips. I laughed so hard. Creed immediately pulled away and was saying ew, and wiping the slobber off his mouth.
I was laughing and it was making Creed laugh. But within minutes he was mad about something and was growling. When Creed gets mad, his new thing is to grunt and growl, nice and loud. I suppose that's what animals do, so he does too. With the biggest frown, and he tries to sound so mad while he growls.
The boys get all this from their father.

Happy New

I like this quote. Talk about a good New Year's Resolution, to become a better person. Do things in life to the fullest. I know I can certainly improve on who I am and who I want to be.

On a different note... Greg was able to get Jax some little ski's. I've been like twice in my life. The second time was just after Greg and I were married. I can't say I mastered it. It's been years. And how nice that Alta has free skiing after 3pm.

On New Years Day we headed out and up. Greg is a die hard skier. He has no fear. After begging and pleading with him to let us start out on the bunny hill, he gets in line with Jax for the lift up the mountain! So I have no choice but to join him. It took us over an hour to get down the mountain. I have to laugh. But on the not-so-steep parts I did great and was really able to practice turning. Then we'd come to another steep part (not according to Greg though). I think I did master how to snow plow. I wasn't as sore as I thought I'd be. Jax had fun. We'll have to take him again, well and me, so we don't forget the feel and what we learned.

Here is Greg guiding Jax along. And no they don't have "matching" coats. It just so happens they are both bright yellow.

Here I am at one of the many stops. I did have fun and am glad to finally be learning. Maybe one day I can ski along side my hubby and keep up with him. :)

Towards the end, below is Jax doing it all alone. Brave, I wonder if he'll be like his father?

Phew, made it to the car. Isn't little Jax with the mini-ski's so cute?
