April, May, School, all ended!

April came, and went and then BAM! May came and flew by and it was over! It was busy as usual to wrap up the school year. Here's some stuff that was going on.
In April my mom had a tea party. She's sad there might not be many more with all the kids. Drew and Alecia's family is moving out of state again (Ohio) and the kids are getting older and teenagers don't want a tea party. Or do they?
Anyways, a fun time was had by all. In the pics, the grand-kids trying to do a pyramid, then when that was almost complete they changed and just laid on top of each other. And then they ate and played games for hours.

In April Greg had a business trip to Amsterdam and London. I was so excited for him to be there in the spring. Tulip season! I told him he HAD to go and see some tulip fields. I've always wanted to see these from an airplane. So Greg did take a day trip when he arrived and went to Keukenhof Gardens. Lucky guy. Holland Tulips!
And then one Sunday dinner in Alpine some of the boys cousins watching something on YouTube. And a sleeping Creed on his first camp-out. Greg took him with the 11 yr. old scouts. But that picture is out of order since that happened in June. Oh well, I'm just catching up and missed that one for the blog.

I was very proud of art this year at Morningside. We lost our art teacher (because of the principal choosing drama - don't get me started) so the PTA took over some lessons and I brought in a ceramics specialist. And we raise money and celebrate all the kids art with Art Night. I helped with that as usual and was over the organizing of mounting and hanging all the art to be displayed. The whole school did all the same projects. So I put a picture below of Creeds, Bodie's, and then Rafe's versions of the same art by Monet "Waterlillies", Van Gough "Starry Night", and Matisse "Goldfish".
And Creed got to make a spirit animal mask and Bodie pointing to his Cezanne "Oranges". I should have shown the picture of all their version of the Mona Lisa! Ha! It was, well let's just say my boys don't quite have a knack for art that I wish they would. All so cute though. I love it!

The same art night the school also did their drama performances. Each class sang and danced and performed to a song from the musical hit Hamilton from Broadway. It was fun and cool. I can't wait to see the actual full musical someday. In the pics is Rafe, top left, Bodie's class top right, he's on the left side. And Creed's class on the bottom, he's in the white shirt on the left end. Oh and another of Bodie in blue pants in the middle bottom.

Bodie and Rafe got to be on the same soccer team this year (1st and 2nd grades). Bodie loves soccer and it was good for Rafe to have Bodie out there encouraging him along. Bodie scored goals almost every game. Wahoo!
Back in April we also took my mom and went to the Jordan River Temple Open House. And the last pic is the boys chill'n on the wall between our backyard and our new neighbors that we already knew from the ward the Lord's. She wants to put a fence up and we don't want to lose our perfectly fine wall. So this will be some fun discussions ahead. Not!

I volunteered, like I do every year, for the 1 mile fun run at the school. Creed's 5th grade class has a tradition of dressing up in costumes. So that's why the skirt on Creed. They all did great! And Greg had a birthday! Yay for 46! I don't actually think it's a yay. :)

And Bodie was able to have a Pine wood Derby at Cub Scouts in May. He was so proud of his car, he loved the color, Greg built it for him. But, he was disappointed that he didn't win. He did win a few races, but didn't make the final. I think he thought he would because Jax won the whole thing back when he was in scouts. Greg keeps scratching his head wondering what he did wrong with Bodie's car not able to perform better. But it was still fun for the boys.

And the last picture I snuck of Jax up by the podium as he was the Conductor for a rest hymn in Sacrament meeting in front of the whole congregation at church! He was sweating bullets he said when he sat down. But he is brave for doing it when they asked. Trying to encourage the youth to do stuff like that. He is a good example for others.

The last of school. These next two collages are kinda jumbled in. So I have a picture of Creed (blue shirt, red shorts) on one of his last recesses on the playground. Playing four square. He's kinda sad 6th grade is now Jr. high and he's done with fun recesses. And the last day of school the 5th Grade promotion. Creed dressed in his suit and getting his certificate or diploma from elementary.  Whatever it is. With his class he's next to his buddies Beckham and Daniel, then Oliver, Connor, Gavin and Jackson behind him.etc.And a couple of his buddies Bronson and Tanner in the picture below.

The last week of school was Beach Day. I had to go over and get Bodie and took a couple pics of him saying hi to Rafe and doing the dunk tank. Bodie really really didn't want to go. So I made him go for an hour then promised I'd come get him. I almost convinced him to stay for the last hour. But no. Next year he'll finally stay for the whole thing. Ay?

Some of Jax's friends have been coming to our house after school this year, or they all go hang out at the elementary school. Because after the Jr. high gets out the friends have to wait until the elementary is out for their siblings so they can get a ride home from their parents. So they all come over with their piles of back packs and massively stinky feet and play Fortnite! Fortnite for dayz.... Ugh! But he loves it and it's fun to have the "hang out" house for a while.

And Creed had a last day of school late night party at our house. A picture of the group of crazy boys and Jax and his "older" teenage friends chill'n on the swing set. then I snapped a pic with Mr. Cracroft, the principal (since he's leaving), with the little boys and Rafe's friends Jonas and Ezra. Bodie would hug Mr. Cracroft every time he'd see him. I loved that the principal loved the kids and played music every week on songs he wrote and played the Star Spangled Banner every Friday for the kids to learn. But I was also frustrated with him from working with him since I am on the Community Council and dealing with the Art hassle, etc. So it made me kinda glad to get a new principal for next year.

A picture from April when we had our apple tree full of blossoms! So pretty. We called it the popcorn tree of course. With Creed doing some front flips on the tramp.
Then Jax on a hike up beautiful Millcreek Canyon with the youth getting ready for Trek this summer and preparing their bodies for walking and hiking. And then Memorial Day. So funny, Abe trying to pop Greg's back and then the gang at Grandpa Bangerter and Mildred's grave.

School got out before Memorial Day, which was weird (25th of May). Kinda nice, but I'd still pick to get out in June if it meant to go back later in August. School starts earlier and earlier. I hate it.

It was kinda rainy the rest of the holiday weekend so we didn't make it up to visit my Dad's grave on Sunday like we normally do. We went earlier. And the boys just doing some weird game with stretching and then feeling like you're arms are going through the ground. Fitting for a cemetery. He he.
Anyways...  Summer begins!
