Fun-ness

*** Pineview ***
Last weekend we had a nice long weekend vacation. We went and stayed at Greg's buddies house/cabin up in Eden, Ut. We spent Friday at Pineview! I love going there. I grew up going there every year. It's fun to take our children and go and play. Bodie's first time in the sand, water, waves, everything. He wasn't too sure at first. But after we buried his feet, stuck him in some waves, he got used to it and played, played, played.
Here he is clapping his hands. But still not touching the sand at this point.
The 3 boys and the big empty beach. The only shot I could get of them holding still. Although I couldn't get them to look up.More water fun! I only took like 60 pictures while at the lake.

Bodie would get sandy mud all over himself, Creed would come by with a bucket and wash him off. It was so cute.
My parents came up and stayed one night with us. We had a yummy dinner. Hung out. Put the boys to bed (and grandpa). They were so excited to sleep in bunk beds, but their daddy wouldn't let them. But the way they were jumping and playing, they would've broken a bone. Then we watched a movie.
.
*** The Valley ***
Saturday we had a "little" Williamsen reunion of sorts at the valley. The valley is a place (a ranch in Eden) my dad's grandpa had and we grew up going there. I LOVE the valley. So we had a little picnic and visited, the kids played. It was fun. We all have so many memories of being up there, I always feel almost homesick.
Hard to see, but Creed is playing by a doorway and little window on the side of the house, it looks a lot different now, but I used to play there too. And then Bodie, Creed, and Greg played tether ball. Just like I used to play.

.
*** SnowBasin***
Saturday night we headed up to Snowbasin and rode the gondola to the top. The boys loved it. It is so dang pretty up there. Best views ever! Looking down at the valley, seeing Pineview, all the other mountains. Just awesome.

Us at the bottom and at the top.Our last night. The boys hitting the baseball in the yard. I love the sky. I loved the weekend.
Oh, but did I mention that Creed threw up 12 times! It only lasted about 6 hours, so it didn't ruin our vacation too much. Then the night we got back, Jax took his turn vomiting. Then the next night it was me. But we are all better and trying to enjoy the last of summer!

ONE

My new little baby is not so new anymore. Bodie turned the big 1! This last year has truly flown by. Bo is such a delight. One happy kid. Always smiling, babbling, clapping, and scooting along. He doesn't crawl or walk, but he can scoot on his bum with the best of them. He gets all over the house everyday. He's been reaching and trying to get himself up, so maybe in the next few weeks he'll be able to pull himself to standing. He has 8 teeth and some molars on the way. He loves to hit and whack the spoon full of food I'm feeding him to land all over. I get mad, he just laughs. He loves to watch his older brothers, loves being out side, loves bath time, pulling my hair, and his favorite toy is balls with books a close second. He's just over 23 lbs and loves eating real food.

His brothers at one year seemed like toddlers to me. Seemed older and they were walking. But my Bodie is still my baby and I love it. I want to cherish him while I can!

I was looking forward to his little b-day party. I had a summer baby, so I finally was going to have a summer b-day party outside. And then on August 4th it decides to hail and rain. I was so disappointed. So we had his party in the garage instead. But it was cleaned out and it worked. Happy 1st Birthday garage style!

Below my mom is holding the cake while we sang to him. He didn't take his eyes off the candle. And then Jaxon blew out the candle for him. And then we re-lit the candle and Creed had to also.

Bodie exploring his cake. He didn't really get into. We had to try and get him to make a little mess of it.

The people enjoying our garage.

The collage below is Creed waiting patiently for the party to start. Then he's shoving a cupcake in his mouth, then Bodie's little hand that was holding tightly with frosting the whole time, and g-ma Lorenzon bouncing Bodie's new ball.

Time for presents! I really wanted to have him be on the ground so he could actually maybe try and open them himself. But the other boys were there to help with that.

Well half the day was cloudy and rainy, luckily a little cooled off so we didn't melt in the garage. And at the end of the day the sun was out, we watched the sunset and were outside on his b-day. Holding him so he didn't scoot around and get a wet bottom. He was happy! I was happy.

Bodie loving balloons, I had a hideous look so I blobbed it out. (he he) And daddy saying goodnight to the birthday boy. We love Bodie more than the whole world and outer space, as Jax says.

Black's Fork time

Black's Fork River area of the Uinta Mountains is the location of our annual extended family camping trip. We went this last week. It was a fun year. We had great weather, well a little windy but perhaps it helped keep the bugs away? I got only maybe 3 mosquito bites, Bodie and Creed got zero, and Jax was eaten alive. I did spray them all. I guess they like Jax's blood. :)
.
Greg and I prepared an awesome dinner one night for everyone. We had Dutch Oven boneless BBQ spare ribs, my sister made my mom's potato salad, and then we had Dutch Oven Blueberry Cobbler for dessert. We eat like kings and queens while camping.
.
The boys go'n fish'n. Greg made sure they caught some. Jaxon getting whacked by a fish. (look closely)Below, Creed is all smiles while fishing, Greg's sunset/moon shot, the group at a campfire, then Rick (Greg's bro.) playing his guitar till after the kids were in bed.
One day while Greg was fishing, I took the boys to the stream in the meadow to play in the water. Jax dropped mud on his head, Creed lost a sandal down stream, mom got sun burned, and Bodie napped peacefully in our camper in the back ground. (I'm in this picture, proof that I was there.)
A few firsts for Bodie. His 1st time being in the Uinta's camping. And his first time actually wearing shoes. (he doesn't walk yet, so why have shoes?) I put him on the table to play, it was clean. And Bodie's first time on a horse. Here he is with my sister Amy and Greg. And then the older two boys riding along. Creed couldn't get enough. I have several pictures of his several rides.

Oh, and Creed had several rides on his uncle Chris's "Boater Bikell" (motorcycle in Creed language). Thanks Chris (Greg's bro.)
We survived another year. Spent numerous hours packing and unpacking up there, then packing and unpacking back home. The night before we left to go up Creed fell off a bar stool and hit his chin on the counter, had to get three stitches. Then in the Uinta's he fell and scraped a tree and got road rash on his face, plus many bruises, and cut up elbow from falling. Lot's of trips, scrapes, dirt. And Creed is ready for recovery. Jax had a few mishaps as well.
The boys had such a fun time. They loved the campfires, marshmallows, gathering sticks, wandering down to the other families camps, drinking juice, Jax played his first BB Gun (airsoft) war (well kinda played), throwing rocks in the river, and were actually glad to go to bed at night. Bodie was actually sick with a cold so we started out rough with him, but then he seemed fine.

Can I just say, there's no place like home!!!

Day of the seventeenth

On July 17th we went boating with Greg's cousin's David and Lisa Apple. And the Denzer's (Greg's sister) joined us. It was a fun day. I tried wake boarding for my first time. And on the first try I got up and was going along, then EVERY attempt after that, I couldn't get up again. Huh? I'll have to fix that sometime.
Below is Greg getting some air on Utah Lake. I edited the photo and it's kinda like a poster. Ay? The boys had fun on the tube. Until Greg purposely fell off, to show the boys it is ok and fun to be in the water. And when we were turning back to go get him, the boys went under. So thanks to Uncle Abe for diving in and "rescuing" my boys. Even though they had life jackets on, they were a little panicked, well so was I.

Jax's first time trying wake boarding. Well it wasn't a real wake board, but it was something you slide little feet into on a board. He was ok as long as he had his goggles on.
Oh Bodie boy. He was so great. Just sat. He could breath. He's just too chubby for a life vest.

That night I put the boys in tank tops (to be twiners) and Greg was teasing me, so I got a few pictures. Jax is aiming his gun, and Creed is a bad guy and Bodie's just chillin.

The Greatest Fun Spot

Cherry Hill, The Greatest Fun Spot You'll Ever Know, Cherry Hill! As the commercial goes.

We went camping up there this last weekend with my side of the family. Personally, I had a fabulous time. I hope everyone enjoyed it. We brought up our camper trailer and our tent for my siblings and families to borrow. We were close enough to home, that not everyone slept over.We used to go there when I was growing up with cousins. I always loved it. It was so fun to go back. Weird, that I was there with my children and reliving the same water slides and doing the same miniature golf.
Friday night, here is Jax on the first hole getting down and scoping out how he was going to hit it. And when he swings, watch out!

Here's the boys all trying to get to the hole at the same time. They had a blast, it was their first time miniature golfing. I like this picture, it shows the marque, a fun windmill and the crowded hole. In my opinion Cherry Hill has the best miniature golf course around. I compare everyone to theirs, and there is no match. It is great. Every hole has something fun.

And then there's Creed who would hit and chase his ball trying to keep hitting it. Funny kid.

A great fun spot indeed. The first time I went there was in 1988. They had just added the new "big" Cardiac Canyon water river/slide. All the same ones are still there. They've held up great I guess. Cherry Hill was fun then, and fun now. We had to convince both of our boys to try the water slides. Jax did like them all. Creed was a little too scared after going down twice. But he loved the lazy river. We went around and around. Creed wanted to stay there and relax. Bodie loved splashing and being out watching people. And as long as Jax had his goggles, he was ready for anything.

Saturday night we had a little reunion of my Jensen cousin's on my mom's side. It was a small turn out, but still fun. Creed was wiped out. We tried waking him up several times to eat. All day in the sun can get to ya. Bodie and cousin Owen were playing by him.

And here's a group shot of the dinner.

I can't wait until next year. We've marked down which camp sites has the most shade. It was so hot. Cherry Hill = Happy times!

Big 3rd

Saturday night we had a big celebration. Most of my family, some of Greg's family, neighbors, and friends. We had quite a turn out. It was yummy food, lots of kids, water gun fights, and ended with a firework show. It's a Deja vu from every year.
Earlier in the day we went to the Centerville parade, took naps, and got ready for the partay! Enjoy the pictures.
The group in front and Greg starting the show. Greg calls the camper trailer, our "ghetto trailer". But I love having it!

We had an awesome sunset. Check out the sky! (nice photo Drew) The boys lighting up the grand finale!
I love Independence Day, I love our country, I love patriotic music and celebrating! I even got teary eyed in the parade when they had some soldiers come by and gave my boys a high-five. Jax was so happy and excited to see a real soldier.

6 pack

So Jax has the body of a little gymnast. He has a 6 pack! The kid is ripped! I tried to capture it, but I don't know that you can see it. I wonder how long it will last? He's a fun kid. And I promise Bodie was having fun while in the jeep with his brothers. I just couldn't get him to break a smile. They both wanted a turn to drive him around.
And a few of us went rock climbing up Ferguson Canyon. It was Creed's first time, that's why I'm posting photos of only him. He loved it. When we were hiking back down to the car Creed kept asking to be held and he wanted to rest because his feet hurt. And as it turns out we emptied his shoes and it was full of rocks. A few big ones. Ouch. Silly boy, I explained to him about telling us info like that.

Lalabellon

In my own personal Creed dictionary lalabellon means : Watermelon.

And I love that watermelon means it's summertime! Now let's hope this March like weather will end and we can really welcome summer. Although, I'm not a fan of the heat either.
It's been a crazy busy month! Not- Just kidding. We haven't been doing much of anything. This picture of Bodie about sums it up. And this is a huge deal, for him to have fallen asleep while on his stomach. He hates tummy time.Cute Bo is already over 10 months old. After every bath I experiment with his hair do. This day I combed it. He looks like a handsome little one.The fabulous Lorenzon boys!

The coolest weapon ever! Search your feelings. You know that it is true.

We've been watching all 6 Star Wars movies. Twice. Jax loves them. It's a movie of a thousand questions of a 5 year old. But I sit and answer his questions and explain things as we go along. I don't mind. I want him to enjoy it as much as I did growing up. Such fun stuff. Above is Luke fighting with Gobi Won Gobi (as Creed says). And below is Creed showing some of his moves. They are pretty good and doing little "tricks" with the "Life Savers", after a few days it finally changed to "Light Savers". And that's good enough for me. I remember calling them that, so I figure when he's older he'll be able to learn the real name like I did.

Hey Jax, Creed, and Bodie - "I am your father." said Greg.

And a good one at that! Happy Father's Day. What would we do without the father's in our lives? I am so greatful for mine!

*Getting My Craft On*

Before: - well actually, I must have deleted the pictures I took of the before and during this project. I can't find them. Man! I was so excited to do the before/after pics. I always like to see them. But you can envision an early 1970's gold framed mirror and gold squiggly lines on the mirror. My mom came across it in an old box and I decided to try something with it. Or you get the idea from this internet photo?

After:

A little red spray paint and chalk board paint.

Then my next project has been a work in progress. I started it in March.

Before: Jax being such a good model.

During: I primed and then tried a color, decided it was too bright of a baby blue so maybe you can see the new light blue color on the top...

After:

After I spray painted it all with several coats.. I then hand painted/wiped on a black glaze to enhance all the wood detail. Normally you can apply it then simply wipe it off. But this I used a little water color paint brush to do all the intricate detail. It was time consuming. But I love it in the end!

The boys were having fun being my models. (without and with a flash)
