*Surgery*

So we've been busy with Creed recovering from his surgery. He had his tonsils & adenoids removed last Friday. They have been swollen for several months now and he was snoring like an old loud grandpa or something. They were huge, I don't know how he was able to swallow food. The Dr. was glad to see them go. It's funny, the Doc that did the surgery grew up in the house we live in right now.
Anyways, we spent several hours up at Primary Children's and Creed did well with everything going into surgery, then there is the waking up recovery part. Ugh. Creed is in A LOT of pain. The pain meds we can only give him every 4 hours, it seems to last for 2, so the last 2 he cries, whimpers, and whines. All day or night! I think he is getting nightmares when he sleeps because he'll wake crying and terrified of something and won't let us near him?
Obviously it hurts to swallow, he is always cupping his mouth. It's been next to impossible to get him to drink enough fluids. Or eat much and he can't take the meds on an empty stomach, so at 1 in the morning I'm trying to wake him to feed him yogurt or pudding. It would be bad if he were throwing up too. He wouldn't let us give him his medicine without a wrestle, hold down, wiggle fight. It was exhausting. But now I let him do it and he seems to be pleased with that.

Everything Jax does makes him mad. He is real "clingy" and needy. He is taking a lot out of me. I complain everyday how horrible it is. But truly, I know a lot of people have gone through worse. Having healthy children is a miracle and I do count my blessings for that. Only a few more days until the major pain is supposedly gone. We are glad the surgery went well and can't wait for the long recovery to be over.
Jax has been a trooper and put up with a lot of T.V. He's never been so excited to go to preschool as he was this morning, something fun and out of the house. I've had to wake Greg every night to help me with Creed, so he's been tired. I'm pregnant so I'm always tired. And now it's time to break out the big maternity pillow to "help" me sleep a little more comfortable. It's getting painful. 3 months to go! Gosh time is flying by.

One thing that has helped me get through these last "rough" days has been a great escape, I've been reading the "Twilight" series. I haven't taken the time to read them yet until now. They are good and entertaining. A fun love story. Yeah for vampires! (ha ha ha)

*Soccer Boy*

So it's Jax's first time on a "team" and first time kicking a real soccer ball. Just before we left the house he got a bad bloody nose, he's been getting those A LOT lately. Anyways, it dripped all down his new uniform. What are mother's for if they can't get the blood out of a uniform minutes before pictures and a game. I am amazing.
He loved it all. I taught him earlier in the day how to run and kick the ball, then run to it again and kick it. He got to do it all the way down the field in the game.
He was goalie twice. And by standing and doing nothing, stopped a score. This is the way he exited the field one time. Who knows why, don't ask. He's 4. He felt like crawling like a spider.

Post game picture. I'm sure because this is the first for our little family and for Jax starting a sport, it was a fun big evening for us. He can't wait to play again. But what the heck do we do with Creed the whole time? What a pain to keep him off the field and happily entertained.

*Next Holiday*

So bring on the next Holiday! I don't take many pictures of have much to say lately unless there is a holiday. I guess Mother's Day is next? Until then, here are some pictures of what we've been up to. On St. Paddy's Day the boys were fighting over who got to watch their favorite movie. So I separated them. Jax in the family room and Creed got to go to my room. He thought that was the biggest treat ever! He of course was watching Toy Story with his little buddies.

Greg is known in his immediate family for doing a "thing" where he puts his shirt up over his head like the boys are doing and does a little walk and in a silly voice says "I'm a clown". And we showed Jax once upon a time and he remembers it well. And decided to do it, and Creed had to follow. I had so many funny shots of this, so I had to just pick one. The boys are being just like daddy, great silly clowns! Creed can't even put his arms down. The boys after dying Easter Eggs. Jax had to keep one of them white. Creed was so excited during it, he fell off his chair twice. Every picture I took Creed would smile. But when he smiles he squints and closes his eyes. He is hilarious.
Easter morning, they're going through the loot.

Nice and healthy snack before church. Jax actually cried because his bunny broke. So cute.

I asked for a picture and Jax hugged Creed. So cute! We went up to my parents for Dinner and had a candy hunt in the backyard. I forgot the camera, but boy did they load up on CANDY. Ugh! I came home and dumped it all into a big bowl and it is filled. I don't think I even had this much to give out at Halloween. I hope my unborn child doesn't mind me eating so much chocolate candy.

Say it ain't so

I wish I could be posting a cute pink girly picture and one of the girl names we have. But that ain't happen'n this time. Yesterday we are at the ultrasound...

Tech: "So you're used to having boys around?"
pause:
Me: "Are you saying we're having a boy?"
Tech: "I tried breaking it to you gently."

Greg and I were surprised, we wanted a girl so badly. But as my brother Drew emailed me and said... "It just goes to show Mic Jagger is the smartest man alive, he once said "You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you'll get what you need!" words to live by."

I like that saying now. Jaxon was really cute during it. He has been saying he wants a sister, but he was the most excited one knowing he'd get another brother. So bring on the wrestling, smelly farts, monsters, cars, and everything else boy.
The baby was very active and wiggly during the ultra-sound. All healthy and good. And he kept opening his mouth. That was cute. I look forward to his arrival, but not looking forward to coming up with another boy name. We've got nothing. Help!

*Nova*

So nothing too exciting has been going on. That's why there hasn't been a new post. I just thought I'd share an update on life. Last night I turned to PBS and Nova was on about glaciers and ice bergs, Greenland, and the melting. It was VERY interesting. In fact, I was trying to get Jax to the kitchen to eat peaches and he didn't want to because he was so into the program. He asked me to record it. So I did and we watched it later. I learned some cool things, he thought everything they showed was pretty cool. Now I'll need to search the TV guide for more interesting shows like that.
This month we started taking Creed to a group class (basically preschool) for speech therapy. He loves it and I hope it helps him a little. He is such a fun silly boy. He is a character. He has a few more words in his vocabulary. I just long for the day when he can really talk to me and tell me things that little boys come up with.
For me the pregnancy is going well. I am feeling good. But not looking forward to the last trimester. I dread getting huge and way uncomfortable. We find out soon if I can do pink or the same old boy stuff. Greg and I both want a girl. So we'll see.

*Spring Fever*

Well the day after we got home from Hawaii we packed the boys up and headed down to St. George. This will be our family vacation this year. I know that after the baby, we won't be traveling anywhere and this summer when I'm big and uncomfortable we won't be traveling either. So it was now or never. And Greg had the week off of work, so we enjoyed it all. When we got there it was about 70 degrees. So nice. We got some kites, played, ate, and had lots of fun.Creed loving every minute of it. Having his favorite Buzz Lightyear kite I'm sure helped that smile stay on his face.

We played and hiked around on some red rock. Jax could have gone "exploring" all day. He loved it. We also took the boys to the pool a couple times. They loved that too.

Bright, bright sun.

Such a fun short little get-away. I love being able to escape someplace warmer. Now we REALLY want spring to come! We just need our boys to get all healthy, they've had bad colds, coughs, pink eye, ear infections. You name it. I really want this season to be over!

*Our Addiction*

3 years in a row. We are addicted. We admit it. We love Hawaii, it's in our blood. This time we went to the Big Island. We left the boys home. Thanks Amy for parenting our boys. And the others who helped. (Greg's mom, Spencer & Celeste, my mom) Life savers!

There are lots of pictures. When you are in paradise it easier to show then to tell. Below is Greg out playing in the water, he's in the middle of the picture.

Here I am sporting the pregnant belly. I'm barely done with the 1st trimester but look A LOT further along. It's amazing how every pregnancy the belly just pokes out sooner and bigger. In fact, the clothes I tried on, while packing, that fit, by the 2nd day, no longer fit. I couldn't wear any of my shorts/bottoms that I brought. That was amazing. Crazy! Anyways, for those that didn't know, yes, we are having our 3rd and I'm due in August. :)

Our resort from a road above.

Back to Greg playing in the water. Here he is body surfing. He was quite good at it. I of course, opted to just take pictures. Although, as you can see these waves were small, perfect for little kids to boogie board. No big waves to knock me over.

We went to the Kona Temple. That was neat. I've never been to "smaller" temple. Very interesting it was "very" laid back. But I felt at home. Nice people.

Another pretty beach.

Our last night eating pizza on our balcony. It's kinda dark, it was a gorgeous sunset.

Black Sand Beach. All the lava around was pretty neat.

Something else that was neat... Hawaii Volcano's National Park. In January they closed half the park due to another big eruption, but we were able to see the cauldron and lots of fume vents. Here is Greg at a vent and I am at an old lava flume/tunnel. We couldn't stay till dark to drive down and see the hot lava flow and glow at night into the ocean.

We missed our boys and are glad to be back home with them. Till next time!

*Talk About*

So talk about huge! As of last night, my 2 year old Creed is actually making his own effort to speak, without being asked to repeat what we ask. For whatever reason, Creed just doesn't talk yet. He has a few words he'll say, like mama, more, Buzz. The important stuff. We've had a speech intervention lady come to our house that has been "working" with him. He does great with everything else he does. His other "motor" skills are above average. He is able to communicate well with us at home. I know what he wants or needs, most of the time. He just points, wines, makes uh uh noises, etc.

He has slowly been getting better at saying words. Before he wouldn't even repeat what we'd ask, but now he totally does. He just hasn't been speaking on his own will. And at 3am we heard a thud, he was out of bed and had dropped Buzz Lightyear on the floor and it hit his door, so we get up and he is asking for mommy. We put him back in bed and tell him it's still night time and to go back to sleep. Then he sees his Ernie doll on the floor and points and says "Ernie"!!! I hand it to him and then he says, "Thank You"!!!! So I kiss him and say go to sleep, good night! He says "night"!! I was blown away. I am so excited. I hope this lasts and gets better!

Speaking of Buzz Lightyear. Creed loves him. Jax went through a phase of loving him and watching Toy Story all the time, I'm sure all little kids do. But that was nothing compared to Creed. Can you say Obsession!! He has him 24/7. He asks all day long to to watch Buzz. He'll turn the TV on and say Buzz. He likes to say and just repeat the word Buzz over and over. He carries him around all day, even when we leave the house. And I caved and now he sleeps with him, naps, bedtime, eating, whatever. Creed and Buzz are one.

*** I've probably made it sound like Creed is really verbally challenged. He actually speaks quite a few words and comprehends things very well. I think that he has just been slow to develop that skill and has been stubborn about speaking, since he's gotten by just fine with grunting and stuff. So, progress like this just makes me really excited! It is fun to watch my little boy growing up.

Philadelphia = 6 Years

I mention Philly because I always say that Greg and I fell in love on the Streets of Philadelphia. We were dating the summer of '02 and then he up and left to go back to Baltimore to finish his last year of law school. I had see where our relationship was going, and I missed him. So the middle of September I flew out to D.C. and my wonderful friend Jolene drove me up to Baltimore to see him. I ended up staying there and on a Saturday Greg and I drove up to Philly because I had never been there. It was such a great day. We truly fell in love. That was the city, the day, that I knew I LOVED him. After I got home is when I told him just that, over the phone, and we decided to get hitched. So here we are 6 years later. Happy Anniversary to us!

Scanned photos, sorry the quality is poor on blogger. But oh well. Here are Greg and I in front of Independence Hall with the Liberty Bell gated off behind us. And yes, he had longer hair.A little over a month later, engaged, and me back east visiting him. We were so in love. This was the last trip before he cut his hair for our engagement pictures. We were so glad when Greg was able to finish up his last semester at BYU law school as a visiting student so we could be married. We would've had to wait until May. Too long for us. Here are some "blooper" pictures of our wedding day. The photographer and my mom helping pose us for a picture, I'm sure with my face I must have been saying something nice?
Here I'm being silly and grabbing Greg's butt. Maybe I'm crazy for actually showing this photo, but it's all fun!
And a real picture. Kissing on the "streets" of Salt Lake.We had an awesome Honeymoon. I loved every minute of it. We went to Carmel, Calif. I can't wait to one day go back. It was great weather. We were the only ones on the beach wearing swim suites to get some sun, everyone else was wearing sweat shirts. They probably thought we were crazy, but it was warm for us. In the lower 70's.
A year later for our 1 year anniversary we took a Caribbean Cruise. Here we are on St. John. We rented a little boat on St. Martin and cruised around and found an empty beach. It was another great trip. I'm glad I found Greg. We have such a great life. Great little family. Great happiness.

*Flash Back Friday - Poffabro*

Finally, a new post! Gosh, I have been wanting to do something, but I had nothing to put. No pictures, no stories or anything boring or exciting. I'm desperate to get rid of the x-mas post. Happy New Year. 2008 was a great year for us. I can't believe it's already 2009. I remember when it turned 2000 I thought it was so weird sounding to say that instead of 19_ _. Now the decade is almost over. And I did have a birthday. But that just means I'm even older now so that's not fun and no pictures of that.
Well my flash back is about this house...
Poffabro, Italy. This is Greg's family's ancestral home. Greg is one of the ones in black in this photo. His great grandpa built it in the late 1890's and finished it in 1901. Greg is also actually named after him, Vincenzo Lorenzon. Greg's first name is Vincent. Anyways that home is not as old as it looks or I would have thought. But still an incredible place. It's quite large and is near a little town square in a quaint little village in northeastern Italy. Up in the Dolomite Mountains. His family always talks about it. In April of 2006 when Greg and I went to Italy to visit his cousin Chad stationed there as a dentist in the military. We took a day and drove up and were able to go in, have a little tour see the town, visit with the locals and people that know his family. It was really neat. Some of his extended family still goes there and uses it as a vacation home. So maybe one day we can take our children and go again.
Changing the subject. I thought this picture of Jax from June '05 when he was about 7 months old was so cute. So here it is. I wish I could be taking a nap right now! How comfy he looks? Ha! He used to always sleep with his butt in the air. Funny kid.
