Flat Tire

We started out our big annual camping trip like this...

We had our pit stop in Evanston, Wy. for dinner and gas and then headed down I-80, took our exit off for our journey to go for over an hour on a dirt road. We were loving the huge wind mills when our engine tire failure light came on. So we pulled over to check our tires. Sure enough our back passenger side was low. And getting lower. :(
Luckily I have a capable hubby to take care of it. He whipped out the spare and got it changed. The boys thought it was a great adventure. They walked a ways down the road and explored around. Nice scenery, you can barely see the wind mills on the left side.
I enjoyed the evening light and snapped a few pictures. We decided that going on rocky dirt roads for the next 5 days with no more spare tires was not a good idea. So we headed back a few minutes and found a place open and able to help us patch our original tire to use as a spare. Here is Greg watching the guy.

Incredible views like this while you change a flat tire?? Pretty nice. And the Wyoming wind made it not so hot. It was 102 degrees back home. And 52 that night after we made it to camp.

Boys, hold still! Trying to get some pictures...

Now the sun has set, it's getting dark, what a great time to head into the mountains and pull into camp at almost 11pm. Ugh. Only 3 hours later than we wanted. Off we go!

And apparently jack rabbits like cars. We saw many just off and on the road. I'm sure our trailer got the ones our car missed. And it's funny. A few days before I had a dream that we got a flat tire. But in my dream it was our trailer and caused a lot of damage and trouble. After all these years of going up to the Uinta's we were bound to have a flat. Greg said his grandpa Bangerter used to load up like a dozen tires to use for all the flat tires when he was young back in the day.  It was our time to get one. We weren't the only ones either. Luckily it wasn't too bad. Just expensive. More on our camping adventures to come...
